Questions
What college and university teams ask us most.
The product
What does BeSure do?
We ask ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google the questions families ask about your school, and check every answer. When an AI names the wrong school, sends people to the wrong website, or leaves you off a list, we show you, and we write the exact change to your website that fixes it.
Which AI assistants do you check?
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews and AI Mode. Microsoft Copilot has no public way to check it, so we leave it out rather than guess.
What questions do you ask?
The ones a parent or student types: what is your school, where is it, what does it cost, what do families actually pay, how hard is it to get in, what is it known for, do graduates get jobs, and which schools to consider for a program in your state. If your school has a lookalike name, we ask the question that trips the AI up. You can add up to five questions of your own.
How do you decide an answer is wrong?
An answer is wrong if it names another school, sends people to another school’s website, leaves you off a list where you belong, or contradicts the cost or admissions facts you have confirmed. An answer that cites Wikipedia or a ranking site is not wrong for that reason alone.
Is this exactly what families see?
Close, not identical. We ask each AI through its official connection, with web search on, the same way every time. Answers in the apps can differ a little from person to person. Every answer we show is quoted word for word, shortened when it is long.
How often do you check?
We check your wrong answers every morning and everything else every week. We email you the day a wrong answer turns right.
Fixing it
Do you change our website?
No. We never log in to your systems or add code. We write the change; your web team makes it, like any content request.
What does our web team have to do?
Make a few small text edits, usually a page title, a first sentence or one added line. Each takes about 15 minutes. Then ask Google and Bing to re-read the changed pages. The email we send them has step-by-step instructions.
Why ask Google and Bing to re-read the pages?
AI assistants answer from saved copies of web pages, many of them kept by Google and Bing. Those copies can be weeks old. Asking them to re-read a changed page is the one thing that helps the AI see your change sooner.
How long until the AI gets it right?
Usually days to six weeks after the change is live. It depends on when each AI refreshes its saved copy of your pages.
Can you guarantee the AI will change its answer?
No. No one controls ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Google. We fix what the AI reads, check every morning, and tell you the day it changes.
Where do the suggested words come from?
Only from facts you have confirmed and the words already on your pages. We never invent a number or a claim. Every change also shows why it helps. You review everything before it goes to your web team.
What are llms.txt and ai-facts.json?
A short, optional fact sheet about your school written for AI tools: your official name, location, website and programs. Your web team can put it on your website. It helps, but the page changes matter more.
Your sites
Which pages do you look at?
The eight that AI assistants use to answer family questions: your homepage, cost, net price calculator, admissions, about, your top three program pages, outcomes and admissions contact. Not the thousands of others.
How many websites can we track?
Each school gets its own Scorecard, covering its main website and its admissions, financial aid and careers sites.
We are a university system with several campuses. How does that work?
Each campus with its own web address gets its own Scorecard today. A single view across a whole system is next on our roadmap.
Do you cover our law school, medical school or graduate schools?
Not yet. We start with the pages families use to choose an undergraduate school. Separate Scorecards for graduate and professional schools are on our roadmap.
Security and access
Do you need access to our systems?
No. No login, no plugin, no tracking code. We read only public information: what the AIs say, and public pages of your website, the way a search engine does.
Do you handle student data? What about FERPA?
We never receive student records or applicant data. There is no student data here for FERPA to cover.
Will our IT or security team need to approve this?
There is nothing to install. Your procurement team may send a security questionnaire, such as the HECVAT; we are happy to complete it. See our Security page for details.
Who can set up our school?
Anyone who confirms an email on your school’s domain. The first person becomes the owner: they pay, send changes and edit facts. Colleagues who join later can view. Agencies are approved by us by hand.
Who can see our Scorecard?
Only people who confirm an email on your school’s domain, and us. No one else can look up your school.
Can an agency or consultant use it for us?
Yes. They request access and we approve it by hand.
Getting started
Can we see our school’s results first?
Yes. Enter your work email on the homepage. We email you a link; open it and your free Scorecard starts. It shows what each AI says about you, and your worst wrong answer with the change that fixes it.
How much does it cost?
Your first Scorecard is free. Monitoring is $499 a month per school, month to month, or $4,990 a year per school (two months free). Cancel any time.
Can we pay by invoice or purchase order?
Yes. Email [email protected] with your purchase order or billing contact and we will set up invoicing.
How do we cancel?
The owner opens Billing and clicks Manage billing, then Cancel. You keep access until the end of the month you paid for. Or email [email protected].
Who is behind BeSure?
BeSure is made by Done Yesterday, LLC, in Tempe, Arizona.
